Tournament Format: The USTA National Campus Championship uses the World TeamTennis format. A match consists of five no-ad sets and includes men's singles and doubles, women's singles and doubles, and mixed doubles. Each no-ad set is won by the first team to reach six games - a nine-point tiebreaker will be played at five games all in any set. Teams will play "Round Robin"/"Pool Play" and then advance into bracket play. Teams are guaranteed four matches (if the tournament limit of 64 teams is reached). ALL TEAM WILL HAVE MATCHES ON SATURDAY. | ||
Securing A Bid: Teams can secure a bid in the 64 team field in three ways. The first way is to earn an automatic bid through their respective USTA Section; contact your USTA Section's Tennis On Campus Coordinator for more information specific to your USTA Sectional Campus Championship. The second way is by securing an at-large/first-come, first-serve bid. Pre-registration for 2011 at-large bids is now closed. Lastly, the 2011 USTA Tennis On Campus Club of the Year will receive an automatic bid to the 2011 USTA National Campus Championship! Only one team per school will be granted a berth into the Championship. | ||

Questions to Ask: Ask team members the following questions to make sure each are eligble: 1. Were you on a varsity "squad list" or NIRSA/NCCS roster prior to 2005? (This includes any year you may have red-shirted). - If yes, they are INELIGBLE 2. Were you listed on a varsity "squad list" for over 3 weeks from August 2010 to present time? - If yes, they are INELIGBLE 3. Were you on a varsity team for 4 years? If yes, when was the last season you played? - If the 2009-2010 season, they are INELIGIBLE 4. Are you enrolled for at least ½ full-time enrollment status? | ||
Rules of Note: • All rostered players must have played in two events representing their team/school in the same academic year and prior to the USTA National Campus Championship. An event is considered a dual match, a tournament, or a USTA Campus Championship - Section Event. • A player may play in only two sets per match, whether as a starter or a substitute (excluding the supertiebreaker). | ||

2011 USTA National Campus Championship - Registration Information | ||

Pre-Registration is Now Closed | Roster Deadline: March 11, 2011 | Entry Fee: $275 |
Entry fee, play history and team roster will be the only items needed for the initial sign-up (pre-registration). Teams will be able to change roster up until March 11, 2010. After this date roster will be frozen and changes can only be made with approval from tournament director (Valerie McCutchan). Enrollment verification forms will be sent via email to team reps on March 16. This form will need all participants’ signatures, and must also be signed by sport club director and the university registrar. If it takes more than three weeks to get the registrar’s signature at your university, please contact us when you initially register. Pre-registration for the 2011 USTA National Campus Championship at-large bids was open January 18 - January 20. Pre-registration is now closed and the bids will be distributed via a lottery system. Teams can also qualify at their USTA Sectional Campus Championship. For more information, contact Valerie McCutchan. |
